5A to Harvey House for Week 2 Ministry

Today the 5th grade students from Miss Miston's class made their second visit to the Harvey House. The visit began with a pleasant surprise. God led a needy person to visit at the same time the students arrived. They were able to observe the kindness of the director, Jackie Rivera, as she helped this man. He was in need of food and shelter. After asking him if he wanted prayer, the students were asked if they would like to pray for this individual. Many were willing and several stood around him and prayed. It was a blessing to hear the sincere prayers of these students. Their prayers brought this man to tears, and later he said he will try not to let them down. The students were able to give this man some necessary food. Later the students helped to unload the food truck and carry boxes and bags of food to the basement storage area. They were later treated by an unannounced mini-concert by one of the workers who sang, "His Eye Is On The Sparrow".

God put a homeless man in our path so he could see us and Him. After all that we were making a food box for him and started food pantry. I had so much fun serving someone other than myself.

We met someone who didn't have anywhere to stay, and we prayed with him. He came to know the Lord and asked Him to come into his heart. He told us that he has only been to church two times. I learned what they really had to do every day at Restoration Ministries. It was fun taking the food downstairs and helping them.

The boys brought in boxes from a delivery truck and the girls pushed them down the table. We carried the light boxes downstairs. We put them where they belonged really fast. Then we put bags out on the table. A man named Craig came and sang for us; he was good.

When I was at Harvey House I felt good. the reason is because I got to prepare food for people who needed it. Another reason I felt good was because a homeless man got saved. I also felt sad because this person did not have a home

When we got at the Harvey House, Antie Jackie said "THere is a man who wants to get closer to the Lord." I got so exited that I could not wait to pray with him. When we were praying for him he started to cry then I started to cry too.

After we prayed with a homeless man,we gave him food.We gave him three sandwiches, two danishes, and a big cookie. I was really impressed with him when said "He didn't want to eat until he read his Bible." C.P.A

This experience taught me that even though a person doesn't have a home or brand new clothes they will have a smile on their face because they know that God is with them.God will guide them to the right place.
Being at Restoration Ministries made me realize that I don't cherish everything I have and take things for granted .Thank God for the founding of Restoration Ministries.

When I got there it felt like somthing amazing was going to happen. Sure enough-when we arrived there was a man who was readey to receive the grace of God. He said that he did not have a family. Then I relized how life would be if I had no family.
We prayed with him, and for the first time in my life I witness someone get saved.
Yesterday my sister got a cell phone. At first I was jelous, but when I thought of some of the children at harvey house. They would love just to get some food. Here I am jealous about a cell phone when I have more than some children.

It was amazing to see someone actually accept Jesus Chrsit as his Savior. We should have more people like tahat. When I went to Restoration Ministries in the 4th grade I didnt have a good understanding of what we were supposed to do, but now I understand i more clearer. After we sah him get saved we had to load boxes of food that were very heavy,I just focused on serving people.Restoration Ministries inspired me to help more people and care about les fortunate people. After I left Restoration Ministries I felt like I did something good and God really told me taht I can make a real change in the world.
